<p>PURPOSE: Provided is a method for reducing the amount of unburned carbon in coal ash through the process of grinding and heating of coal ash. The resultant coal ash is recycled as concrete admixtures. CONSTITUTION: The amount of unburned carbon contained in coal ash is reduced by grinding coal ash(fly ash and bottom ash) generated in steam power plants to have a specific surface area more than 4000cm2/g for increase of oxidation of unburned carbon in coal ash, and heating ground coal ash between 500-550deg.C for 3min. The resultant coal ash containing unburned carbon less than 5% is recycled as concrete admixtures.</p> |
