A lens adapter designed to have optical parts, such as a filter and a convergent lens, attached thereto without installing a dedicated attaching member on the camera side and which can be easily put in and taken out from a case. A lens adapter (40) comprises a mount section (42) adapted to be put in and taken out from the case (10) of a camera (100), and a lens barrel receiving section (48) disposed in the mount section (42) and receiving a lens barrel (12). The mount section (42) has a first member (44) and a second member (46) which are swingable and removably join each other, and is mounted in the case (10) such that the case (10) is held between the first and second members (44, 46) longitudinally of the case (10). A metal ring is fixedly embedded in the front end of a cylindrical wall (50) constituting the lens barrel receiving section (48). The inner peripheral surface of the ring is formed with a female thread for attaching optical parts, such as a filter and a convergent lens.
