PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding type barrier mechanism preventing a barrier from floating even in the case an external force in a peel-off direction is applied on the barrier, and preventing an inner member from floating even in the case a force is applied in a direction orthogonal to a barrier opening/closing direction, preventing skipping of gear tooth, besides, preventing the deformation of the barrier, and also, preventing the impossibility of the opening/closing detection due to the run-off of the barrier detecting member from the inner member even in the case a strong force is applied from the outside, and preventing the barrier from being unlocked in a state where a lens barrel is extended. SOLUTION: Regarding the sliding type barrier mechanism provided with the barrier which moves between a closing position where the lens barrel is covered along a camera front outer casing and an open position where the lens barrel is exposed, a guiding means for guiding the barrier so that the barrier can move along the camera front outer casing and a roller rotating on the rear side of the barrier and held by the guiding means so that it can rotate on the camera front outer casing, a hook part is arranged in a position away from the axis of the roller on the front outer casing, and also, so that it may not be exposed outside even when the barrier is open/closed, and a rail part is arranged in a position facing the hook part on the rear side of the barrier, and comes in contact with the barrier so that the barrier may be immovable in the backward and forward directions of the camera.
