PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of obtaining good perceptivity when lighting a light source and also obtaining a novel appearance by devising the configuration of a display panel. SOLUTION: A dial face 2 is constituted by a scale 21, digits 22 and characters 23 that are formed of high reflectance and opaque layer on a surface 20a of watcher's visual side of a transparent display board 20, and a background B formed of high reflectance and opaque layer on the backside 20b opposite to the surface 20a. In the background B, an opening C is arranged inside of each scale 21, digit 22 and character 23 in the watcher's visual direction. Consequently, the contours of the scale 21, digits 22 and characters 23 are indirectly illuminated, thereby providing a combination meter 1 that is superior in the perceptivity and novel in appearance of the dial face 2 which is enhanced in three-dimensional effect without making the visual recognizer feel dazzling the light emission from the contours of the scale 21, digits 22 and characters 23.
