PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct large curl amount caused by making a sheet pass through two fixing units. SOLUTION: In the fixing device having two or more fixing units, a detection means for detecting the direction and the amount of the curl of the sheet is provided on a more downstream side in a feeding direction than the fixing unit on the most upstream side in the feeding direction, and a sheet curl straightening means positioned on the downstream side in the feeding direction of the detection means is controlled in accordance with the direction and the amount of the curl.
