PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deposit reduction device for an intake valve which achieves cost reduction and requires no maintenance. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with an EGR passage which comprises a first EGR passage 21 communicating with an exhaust manifold 15 on the upstream side of a heat exchanger 16, a second EGR passage 22 communicating with an exhaust manifold 15 on the downstream side of a heat exchanger 16 and a passage 24 communicating with an intake manifold 12. The first EGR passage 21 and the second EGR passage 22 are joined in a three-way valve 23. A control unit 26 judges whether or not to be in a middle load area on the basis of the temperature differenceΔT between the engine rotation speed Ne and indoor set temperature Tr and the indoor intake temperature Tm. When an engine 5 for GHP operates in the middle load area, the control unit 26 actuates the three-way valve 23 to select the first EGR passage 21. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
