PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanger for electrodeposition coating which secures a satisfactory conducting state to the object for electrodeposition, and further moves the object for electrodeposition in a freely swingable manner, and to provide an electrodeposition coating method. SOLUTION: In the hanger 1 for electrodeposition coating, a recessed part 12 is formed at the inside face of a cap part 11 provided at a hanging tool 2 locking the object for electrodeposition coating, and a projecting part 8 is formed at the upper end face of a projection part 7a provided at a horizontal frame 3, thus, when the cap part 11 is fitted to the projection part 7a, and is dipped into an electrodeposition liquid, a point contact state between the cap part 11 and the projection part 7a is retained, and further, an air layer in a sealed state is formed on a space part 15 between the cap part 11 and the projection part 7a. In this way, a satisfactory conducting state to the object for electrodeposition is secured without forming a coating film on the abutted part between the cap part 11 and the projection part 7a, also, the hanging tool 2 can be freely rocked all around with the projection part 7a as the center, and bubbles stuck to the object for electrodeposition can be removed.
