PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the durability of a rotor containing viscoelastic substance in the rotating condition. SOLUTION: Analyses are made for the geometric shape, stress, etc. of a model of the rotor containing viscoelastic substance (step S101). From the numerical data obtained through analyses, extraction is made for the physical amounts required to evaluate the characteristics related to the heat emission energy (step S102). Then evaluation is made for the characteristics related to the heat emission energy of the rotor model using the extracted physical amount and requisite variables for predicting the heat emission (step S103). The durability of the rotor model is predicted using the characteristics related to the heat emission energy, the variables to represent the rolling condition of the rotor model, etc. (step S104).
