PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes dryer constituted so that a heat pump device and an air duct are compactly stored in a free space in a case. SOLUTION: In the case 1 with a door 7, where clothes are put-in/taken-out, arranged on the front surface, a water tub (drying chamber) 3 is supported by inclination so as to allow its rear surface to be lower than its front surface, and a heat absorber 30 and a heat radiator 32 are arranged nearly in parallel inside the heat exchange air duct 31, which is provided in the lower part of the rear surface of the water tub 3, so that the surfaces having the largest area are opposite to each other and the alignment direction is directed to the front and rear direction of the case 1.
