PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form curls speedily and accurately. SOLUTION: The hair dressing apparatus consists of a rod 5 with a film heater 25 for curling hair and a control box 3 for controlling the temperature of the film heater 25, and also has a detachable heat insulator 7 for covering and heat-insulating the outer surface of the rod 5 around which hair is wound. The heat insulator 7 has heat-insulated spaces 51 and 53 for the heat insulation in the interior, and silicone is enclosed in the heat-insulated spaces 51 and 53. The hair wound around the rod 5 is heat-treated from inside with the heat generated from the film heater 25 whose temperature is adjusted, while the outside of the hair can be covered with the heat insulator 7. Accordingly, the influence of the heat on the scalp of the person to be treated can be controlled while the temperature of the rod 5 is sufficiently increased, and as a result, the hair can be curled speedily and accurately.
