<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a vibration generated at the initial time of starting a hybrid vehicle when the hybrid vehicle is started by a motor drive. <P>SOLUTION: In the hybrid vehicle, at the initial time of starting by driving the vehicle only with a motor, a vibration-proofing operation which affects a vibration-proofing effect to a wheel drive system by starting the motor only for a period until the rotating speed of the motor exceeds a predetermined value. One of them is to engage a clutch provided between an internal combustion engine and the motor.
