PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat belt-shaped switch that permits switching to either a large or a small press width to be detected by the switching of a single switch, in a flat belt-shaped switch for contacting and detecting a press width by a press. SOLUTION: In a flat belt-shaped switch for contacting and detecting by a press, pole wires on one surface that constitutes the switch are installed in parallel by a plurality of three or more wires; intermediate contact wires are installed where many disconnected portions are provided with displacements from each other between respective pole wires; and branch wires are prepared alternately overhanging from the respective pole wires in the midst of the disconnected portions. The crosslinking wires are provided with a length, over which they straddle the disconnected portions at the positions of the respective disconnected portions of the intermediate contact wires on the other surface of the switch; and switchers are connected to all pole wires on the one surface, energizing width that bypasses the crosslinking wires is changed to broad or narrow by selecting two pieces of pole wires, such as far and near out of the pole wires by the switchers.
