PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor which reduces cogging more effectively by using an unequal gap. SOLUTION: Slots (23) are formed at predetermined open angles at the circular periphery of a salient pole (21), and for a magnet (3), its ends are notched and made in inequal gap forms having gaps of L1, L2 and L3 in distance to the circular periphery of the salient pole. The gap L2 is approximately double the gap L1, and the gap L3 is approximately treble the gap L1, and the gaps L1, L2 and L3 are formed so that the four ends of the salient pole forming the slot may be arranged in such positions that they become larger than the gap of L2.
