PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact imaging apparatus though a driving part is included. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 comprises a chassis 3 where a suspended shaft 12 is integrally formed, an imaging unit 2 attached to the chassis 3, an optical unit 4 for supporting a circular frame 17 so as to move it in an optical axis direction by fitting the suspended shaft 12 of the chassis 3 in a suspended shaft hole 19 formed on the circular frame 17 for holding a lens 16 to form the optical image of a subject on the imaging unit 2, and a driving part 5 for driving the circular frame 17 in the optical axis direction. The suspended shaft 12 has a shape that shaft grooves 12b extended to at least two axial directions and becoming gradually deeper in accordance with separated distances from the chassis 3 are formed on the cylindrical surface 12a of a cylinder.
