PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of easily obtaining a desired focal distance as an imaging apparatus having a zoom lens whose focal distance is changed by a motor actuated by switching operation. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has the zoom lens 2 whose focal distance is changed by the motor 3, a switching means 10 actuating the motor 3, a focal distance detection means 4 detecting the focal distance of the zoom lens 2, a storage means 7 in which the focal distance is stored and a sound producing means 12 producing sound. In the imaging apparatus, the zoom lens 2 is actuated by the switching means 10, and the sound producing means 12 produces the sound when the focal distance obtained by the focal distance detection means 4 attains the focal distance stored in the storage means 7 in changing the focal distance.
