<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording material for use in an optical recording medium which exhibits sufficiently excellent recordability in high-speed recording. <P>SOLUTION: This optical recording material is used for the optical recording medium whereon information can be recorded by light irradiation. Information is recorded on the optical recording material at a linear speed of ≥14 m/s. A dye component included in the optical recording material contains at least one kind of chelate compound of a metal and an azo compound. In the dye component, when thermogravimetric analysis is performed in an atmosphere of inert gas in such a manner that the dye component is used as a sample, the maximum value of a mass reduction rate of the sample at 180-250°C is in the range of 0.2-3.0%/°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
