<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a hybrid vehicle in which fuel consumption performance is improved at idling time at a battery low temperature time in the hybrid vehicle having at least an engine (prime motor), a motor (electric motor) coupled to the engine, and a battery (electric storage means) for supplying a power to the motor. <P>SOLUTION: When it is detected that the hybrid vehicle is an idling drive state and the temperature TB of the electric storage means is a predetermined value (0°C) or lower, fuel supply to the engine is intermittently stopped.
