ALKALINE POWDER FOR INHIBITING PUTREFACTION OF FOOD WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation capable of inhibiting occurrence of putrefaction and putrefaction odor for a long period until treatment of food wastes is carried out.

SOLUTION: The subject alkaline powder comprises ≥60 mass% carbonate of an alkaline metal, and pH measured when the alkaline powder is hydrolyzed is 9.5-12.5. The occurrence of putrefaction and putrefaction odor can be suppressed by scattering the alkaline powder to food wastes from the upper part.
