<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head for imparting a specific feeling over the length of a ball hitting surface by damping vibration. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club head having a vibration damping insert is disclosed. The club head has a face member, a damping member, and a body member. The damping member is sandwiched between the face member and the body member, and extends along most of the face member.
