POSITION-REPORTING DEVICE AND POSITION-DETECTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a location-reporting device which is carried by a user or mounted on a vehicle and used for confirming a place at which a child or an aged person is and pursuing a stolen vehicle by reporting a result of locating by a GPS positioning part to a monitoring center through a cellular phone network with less power consumption and less communication expenses without degrading precision in detecting the present position.

SOLUTION: The present position is located by a GPS locating part 10 with a preliminarily fixed interval, and the result of the locating is transmitted from a transmission part 11. In this case, a locating result storage part 17 stores the history of the results of the past locating by the GPS positioning part 10, and a forecasting part 13 forecasts a position at the next locating timing based on the results of the previous and present locating, and a locating result comparison part 15 verifies the result of the forecast. When the forecast comes true, a control part 14 thins out the locating by the GPS locating part 10 via a GPS power source control part 16 and also thins out the transmission from the transmission part 11 via a position transmission part 12.
