PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens driving device realizing miniaturization and the reduction of assembly man-hour while realizing an automatic variable power function and an automatic focusing function. SOLUTION: The lens driving device for a camera is constituted by adopting driving units 90A and 90B where a stepping motor 91 and a plurality of gears 96a to 96f are unitized as a driving mechanism for rotating cam bodies 20 and 30, and a holding member 80 or the like holding the driving units 90A and 90B in common so that gears for output 96f possessed by the driving units 90A and 90B may be meshed with the gears 25 and 35 of the cam bodies 20 and 30. Thus, the driving units 90A and 90B are held in common and unified, whereby space occupied by the driving mechanism is minimized, and the lens driving device is easily assembled in the narrow space of a personal digital assistant or the like.
