PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more usable toilet device by enhancing the accuracy of detection of a position of a nozzle means. SOLUTION: This toilet device is equipped with a nozzle means 12 for emitting a jet of washing water to the private parts of the human body, a motor 14 for driving the nozzle means, a gear 17 to which a plurality of marks 16 are applied, a nozzle position detecting means 20 which irradiates the marks of the gear with light so as to detect the position of the nozzle by a change in reflected light, and a control means 13 for driving the motor to a prescribed position in accordance with an output signal of the nozzle position detecting means. The detection of the passage or nonpassage of the plurality of marks applied to the gear enables the position of the nozzle to be detected even if an angle of rotation of the gear is small, and enables the nozzle to be driven by the millimeter.
