PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery cosmetic free from scattering trouble of powder in use (no scattering tendency), having smooth spreadability in application to the skin and giving a natural finishing effect on the skin with high transparent feeling. SOLUTION: The powdery cosmetic is compounded with synthetic phlogopite powder having an average particle diameter of 5-40μm, an apparent specific volume of 8-11 mL/g and an (apparent specific volume)/(specific volume) ratio of≥3.3. The invention further provides the above powder cosmetic wherein the synthetic phlogopite powder has an aspect ratio of≥35 and the above powdery cosmetic wherein the amount of the synthetic phlogopite powder compounded to the cosmetic is≥40 mass%.
