PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method by which the manufacturing quality of a workpiece can be improved by preventing the occurrence of a surface roughening pattern such as a stripe pattern extended in the direction perpendicular to the feed direction of a workpiece fixed to a table and occurring at equal pitches. SOLUTION: The workpiece 11 is ground by automatically reciprocating the workpiece 11 with respect to a rotating grinding wheel 15 in the grinding method. The feed speed V of the workpiece 11 is changed according to the one movement or the reciprocation of the workpiece 11 every one time, every plural times or every combined times of one time and plural times.
