PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for adjusting the length of a band, in particular of, a watchband. SOLUTION: The device includes two parts 1 and 2 capable of being moved to closer to or away from each other and includes an assembly 4, 5, and 3 for adjusting the length of the band and provided with at least one cable 3 for adjusting the length of the band carried by the first part 1. The cable 3 connects the first part 1 to the second part 2. The device further includes a means 4 by which a wearer adjusts the assembly 4, 5, and 3. In the device, an adjusting pulley 5 is secured to the means 4, and one end of the cable 3 is secured to the pulley, around which a part of the cable 3 is wound. In the device, the pulley is associated with locking means 6, 7 and 9 enabling to lock the rotation of the pulley in a plurality of adjustment positions.
