<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide system or the like capable of rapidly providing information and also changing a display content without requiring a high cost. <P>SOLUTION: The guide device 1 to be set at a station or the like comprises a display monitor 12, a storage device, a reader/writer 14 capable of reading and writing information from and to a storage medium, and the like. The storage device stores peripheral maps/routes to shops/electronic coupons, or the like. The storage contents of the storage device are transmitted from a server 1 through the Internet, and updating of information is periodically performed. The guide device 1 displays a peripheral map/route to shop/electronic coupon or the like on the display monitor 12. The guide device transmits an electronic coupon to a cellular phone with built-in IC chip or the like.
