<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst which is adapted so that its activity is prevented from lowering and assures improved temperature-keeping properties and a consequent high degree of cleaning even when the temperature of an exhaust gas is lowered. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprises a support comprising a main support comprising a porous oxide and a subsidiary support having a smaller specific surface area and a higher heat capacity than those of the main support and a catalytic metal mainly carried by the main support. The subsidiary support can keep the catalyst temperature high because of its high heat capacity even when the temperature of an exhaust gas lowers during actual running, and the activity can be suppressed from lowering because the catalytic metal carried by the subsidiary support is limited to a low level but is carried mainly by the main catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
