PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant composition prepared by adding flame retarding property to 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl methyl ether (HFE-254pc) without deteriorating its physical properties to solve the problem that the application of HFE-254pc is limited in a specific area because of its flammability inspite of the fact that HFE-254pc is considered as an excellent fluorocarbon substitute for its small effect on environment because of a small contribution to global warming and also for its small heat conductivity. SOLUTION: The flame retardant composition comprises 80-30 wt.% of 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl methyl ether(HFE-254pc) and 20-70 wt.% of flame retardant 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane(HFC-245fa).
