<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a function which a reception diversity system originally has, suppressing power to be consumed when intermittent receiving operation is performed. <P>SOLUTION: Concerning at least an RF portion 11, by a control portion 14, only a predetermined system out of individual systems is operated and the other systems are stopped during each intermittent operation period in intermittent receiving operation, and the individual systems are all stopped during intermittent stop periods in the intermittent receiving operation. By a digital signal processing portion 13, an initial receiving gain estimated from arbitrary past receiving gains used in past intermittent operation periods is set in the RF portion 11, as an initial receiving gain of a new system to be operated according to the arrival of the next intermittent operation period.
