<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper device consisting of a main bumper beam and an auxiliary bumper beam whose positional relationship is maintained in the event of collision with a person, structured so that the auxiliary bumper beam does not hinder the main bumper beam to make displacement in the event of collision with a property and no impact is transmitted to the vehicle or driver/passenger(s). <P>SOLUTION: The bumper device 1 to scoop up a pedestrian onto the bonnet of the vehicle in the event of collision with a person is structured so that an auxiliary bumper consisting of the auxiliary bumper beam 11 furnished at its front face with a shock absorbing member 12 is installed in a specified positional relationship to a main bumper consisting of the main bumper beam 13 furnished at its front face with a shock absorbing member 14, wherein the main bumper beam 13 is supported by a shock absorbing device 15 on a side member 51, while the auxiliary bumper beam 11 is coupled with the main bumper beam 13 by a supporting arm 16 sunk from the main bumper beam 13, and the supporting arm 16 has a rigidity so as not to make plastic deformation in the event of collision with person and make plastic deformation in the event of collision with property. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
