PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for an automotive heat exchanger made of an aluminum alloy which is excellent in brazability and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: A member for a heat exchanger made of an aluminum alloy, and a method for manufacturing the member. The member is assembled by brazing. A covering layer is formed on the flat portions of the member which touches an aluminum alloy fin material and on the circumferential surface of curved portions between the flat portions of the member.
