PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance durability of a heater by suppressing excess energy ejection into a liquid ejection mechanism even after liquid is ejected. SOLUTION: An ink ejection mechanism (liquid ejection mechanism) 1 and a switch circuit 2 are connected in series between a power supply VH and GNDH. The switch circuit 2 is turned on/off by a switch control circuit 4 receiving an external control signal. The switch control circuit 4 also receives the output signal from a capacity detection circuit 3 outputting a signal correlated with the capacity C<SB>H</SB>between the ink ejection mechanism 1 and the switch circuit 2.
