PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain sufficient gloss and image fixing strength while preventing decrease in self-cohesive strength among heated and fused toner particles, and to prevent offset phenomenon caused by transfer of the toner onto a fixing roller in a fixing step of an electrophotographic apparatus to fix a toner image transferred onto a printing medium. SOLUTION: A toner image developed by using a liquid toner is fused and transferred onto a printing medium and then fixed. The fixing device is equipped with at least two pairs of pressurizing rollers having a nip part to pressurize on both sides of a printing medium and successively pressurizes the printing medium with the image is fused and transferred thereon. The temperature T1 in the nip part of at least one pair of the pressurizing rollers is controlled to satisfy Tm<T1, wherein Tm is the melting temperature of the toner resin in the liquid toner. The temperature T2 in the nip part of the other at least one pair of rollers is controlled to be at or near the glass transition temperature Tg of the toner resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
