PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner concentration detecting device capable of exactly measuring the concentration of liquid toner even when ambient temperature changes in the case of measuring the toner concentration of the liquid toner by using a toner concentration sensor in a liquid developing type electrophotographic device having a liquid toner concentration adjusting mechanism. SOLUTION: The toner concentration detecting device is equipped with a concentration detection roller which rotates at prescribed speed in a state where a toner layer is formed on its surface part opposed to the toner concentration sensor in the case of measuring the toner concentration of the liquid toner by the toner concentration sensor, and a toner transfer mechanism which transfers and provides a liquid toner layer on the concentration detection roller. In the toner concentration detecting device, the concentration detection roller has a calibration reference surface where the toner layer is not formed and a toner concentration detection surface where the toner layer is formed, which are formed on the surface part, so as to calibrate the output value of the toner concentration sensor by using the output value of the toner concentration sensor on the calibration reference surface.
