摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight structural material for a machine capable of exerting further high rigidity against torsion, and an improved hand which is a hand for a robot arm device using the structural material for a machine and capable of preventing the occurrence of torsional deformation in a frame mounted with a fork. SOLUTION: The structural material (1) for a machine is composed so that an outer shell part is formed into a hollow square-bar shape and a reinforcing material (2) for regulating the deformation of the cross-sectional shape is inserted perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction to its inside. The hand for a robot arm device is provided with a frame part (3), which is composed by using the structural material (1) for a machine and mounted at the tip of an arm (5) of the robot arm device, and the fork (4) attached in a state of nearly horizontally protruding to the frame part (3).
