<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid drop ejector capable of enhancing reliability in detection accuracy of abnormal ejection of ink drops through a relatively simple arrangement without requiring a special sensor such as a photosensor. <P>SOLUTION: When abnormal ejection of an ink drop is detected, contact of a changeover switch 43 is set at a position shown on the drawing and a drive circuit 41 outputs an actuator drive voltage in addition to an original drive voltage. An electrostatic actuator 22 is driven by the original drive voltage and a diaphragm 21 oscillates to eject an ink drop. Subsequently, the electrostatic actuator 22 is charged with charges Q by the actuator drive voltage and the charging voltage Vc corresponds to residual oscillation of the diaphragm 21. Contact of the changeover switch 43 is then switched to the residual oscillation detection circuit 42 side. Consequently, the residual oscillation detection circuit 42 is supplied with the charging voltage Vc and outputs a residual oscillation waveform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
