<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell in which risk is scarce for a deterioration to occur with an electrocatalyst caused by an excessive rise of temperature during a warming up operation at the starting time. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell provided with an anode electrode and a cathode electrode arranged on both sides of an electrolyte and with separators respectively arranged outside of the anode electrode and the cathode electrode, this is provided with a fluid flow passage which is arranged at least one separator and makes a fluid circulate from the face far separated from the face contacted with the electrode, and an exothermic reaction promoting means that is arranged at a fluid flow passage and makes the fluid generate exothermic reaction.
