<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin care external preparation having the activities of not only salving inflammation but also suppressing the decline in rough skin and skin-barrier function developed in association with inflammation. <P>SOLUTION: The skin care external preparation is obtained by including (1) a saccharide-bound polymer where groups each containing a saccharide as constituent unit are covalently bound to a polymer base and (2) Sophora flavescens extract. In this skin care preparation, it is preferable that the Sophora flavescens extract contain 0.01-1 mass% of sophoraflavanone G of the formula, the saccharide-bound polymer is such that the polymer base is selected from polystyrene, poly(-α-methylstyrene), polyamide, polyester, polypropylene, polycarbonate. urethane resin, fluororesin, silicone and acrylic resin, and the saccharide is glucose, arabinose, xylose, galactose, mannose, fructose, glucosamine, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
