PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the function of automatically updating setting of a client PC by background processing in a system including a proxy server and an authentication server arranged between a Web server and a client. SOLUTION: The client PC 4 of this client-server system comprises a cache 43 storing a session ID management table 91 associating a session ID received from the authentication server 31 based on establishment of a session with the URL of an access destination and storing it; and a client module 42 checking the session ID management table 91 at the time of starting, and transmitting, in a case that a session ID corresponding to the URL of an access object is stored, a request with the cached session ID to the authentication server 31.
