PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manage data recorded in a recording medium, and to improve the convenience of the recording medium. SOLUTION: A management information generating part 44 generates management information for managing an optical disk 21 by using recording medium identification information to identify the optical disk 21, and makes a management information storing part 45 store it, and supplies the management information to a multiplexing part 34 in a necessary timing. The multiplexing part 34 multiplexes the management information to be supplied by the management information generating part 44 with clip data to be supplied by a signal processing part 33 as necessary, and supplies the result to a recording control part 35. The recording control part 35 controls the pickup part 36, and records the data supplied from the multiplexing part in the optical disk 21.
