PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for carbonizing wastes, which has an effect that the wastes can easily be converted into the carbonized matter and then effectively recycled as a fuel and by which the carbonized matter can efficiently be recycled to a large carbonized matter-utilizing market corresponding to the amount of the produced wastes, to provide a method for utilizing the carbonized matter produced by the method. SOLUTION: This method for carbonizing the wastes is characterized by thermally treating the inorganic or organic wastes in a carbonizing chamber at about 300 to 800°C and then dry-distilling the product in the carbonizing chamber at low temperature.
