PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine by which a high washing force can be obtained with less washing water. SOLUTION: This electric washing machine is equipped with an external frame, an external tub 5 which is provided in the external frame, and accumulates washing water, an internal tub 2 being a washing/spin-drying tub which is rotatably provided in the external tub, a rotary disk 4 which is positioned on the bottom section in the internal tub 2 and is rotatably provided, and a driving mechanism 7 which selectively rotate-drives the internal tub 2 and/or the rotary disk 4. The electric washing machine is also equipped with a water feeding mechanism which feeds the washing water into the external tub, a water draining mechanism which drains the washing water in the external tub, a washing water circulating mechanism which circulates the washing water accumulated in the bottom section of the external tub by sucking in the washing water in a manner to be spread over laundry in the internal tub from the upper side of the internal tub, and a controlling device which controls the driving mechanism, the water feeding mechanism, the water draining mechanism, and the washing water circulating mechanism. The rotary disk 4 has a slope 4a which repeatedly applies a partial force facing upward to the laundry on the rotary disk by the rotation, and the internal tub 2 is constituted into a flat shape of which the inner diameter a is larger than the depth b.
