<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user play by using musical piece data provided through streaming distribution without any trouble and to provide proper new musical piece data for the user according to an evaluation result of the musical performance. <P>SOLUTION: A musical piece data providing system provides proper musical piece data (including phrases) by streaming for electronic music devices (electronic musical instrument) CL (CLa, CLb, ...) from a server device SV through a communication network CN such as the Internet. Musical piece data received by the electronic music device CL are temporarily stored in a temporary memory and used for reproduction. When the user performs a musical performance operation (including a game operation) in timing to reproduction of the musical piece data, the musical performance operation result is sent to the server device SV and reproduced and the musical piece data are forcibly erased from the temporary memory.
