<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and secure method for retaining freshness of agricultural products/horticultural products achieving overall the sustained freshness retention of the agricultural horticultural products through sustainedly gradually producing carbon dioxide, sustainedly suppressing ethylene concentration in the peripheral atmosphere of the agricultural horticultural products, and also effectively demonstrating green color retaining action and even antibacterial action of the agricultural horticultural products. <P>SOLUTION: This method for retaining the freshness of the agricultural products/horticultural products comprises letting a freshness retaining agent containing organic acid and hydrogen carbonate coexist with the agricultural products/horticultural products in the same atmosphere and gradually generating carbon dioxide in the presence of moisture produced from the agricultural products/horticultural products. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
