PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of repair of a coking chamber of a coke oven by which a damaged portion is accurately identified by effectively burning and removing the carbon deposited on the oven wall of a coking chamber and repaired by flame gunning. SOLUTION: In the method of repair in which a gunning material is gunned on the damaged portion 12 of the oven wall 11 of the coking chamber 10 of the coke oven comprises closing oven doors 30 and 31 on the sides of the pusher and the guide cart of the coke chamber 10 in which red heated coke has been pushed away, opening the lids 22-26 for coal charge holes and the cap 28 for the ascension pipe, introducing a gas containing oxygen for burning for a predetermined period of time into the coking chamber 10, burning the deposited carbon 13 on the oven wall 11 of the coking chamber 10, opening the oven door 30 on the pusher side and gunning a gunning material on the damaged portion 12 of the oven wall 11 of the coking chamber 10 from the pusher side of the coke chamber 10.
