PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having excellent reliability and usability. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with a cord reel for reeling and housing a power cord 3 and an opening part 5 for pulling the code 3 out. The opening part 5 has a shape whose lower side is wide and a vertically long hole is connected facing upward. Thus, when the cord 3 is pulled out, the cord 3 passes through the vertically long hole, so that contact of the code 3 with the opening part 5 is reduced. Thus, pull-out force is reduced and the reliability of the cord 3 is improved. Since the opening part 5 has a shape whose lower side is wide, the reliable vacuum cleaner where remaining of the cord 3 not-reeled due to local entangling is prevented by swinging the cord 3 to the right and left when it is entangled is provided.
