<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is equipped with a container holding means of holding a container according to its shape and then can hold containers of various shapes, and can effectively eliminate a feeling of physical disorder due to an unpleasant odor by enabling a discharge part of a spray type container to discharge a fragrance when an unpleasant odor such as an ozone odor is produced since the discharge part is pushed responsively to the operation of a driving part during image formation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is equipped with a container holding part 23, a rotary shaft 15d of a driving roller 15a, and an eccentric cam 21. The container holding part 23 holds the spray type container 31, having the discharge part 33 which is charged with the fragrance and discharges the fragrance, in accordance with the shape of the spray type container 31. The rotary shaft 15d is driven as image formation is carried out.
