PLASMA DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display apparatus in which display quality of a dark image is enhanced.

SOLUTION: The plasma display apparatus which performs gradation display using a sub-field method is equipped with; a plasma display panel 11; a sustain pulse frequency changing means 25/26 which detects a display load factor and which changes sustain pulse frequency for each sub-field according to the display load factor; and an adaptive sub-field number changing means 27/28 which calculates idle time in one display frame produced by changing the sustain pulse frequency and determines the number of sub-fields in one display frame by determining whether the subfield can be added according to the idle time.
