PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a compact structure, also improve reduction of printing speed, and avoid dirt, damage, etc. of a draft in a multi-functional image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is provided with a manual insertion tray 15, an image forming part 7, a 1st paper feeder 9, an image reader 19, a 2nd paper feeder 21, and a discharge 25. The manual insertion tray 15 is arranged in the side of a main body 3, and is possible to mount papers. The 1st paper feeder 9 feeds papers on the manual insertion tray 15 to the image forming part 7. The image reader 19 is arranged in an upstream side of the image forming part 7, and reads image information on the paper. The 2nd paper feeder 21 feeds papers on the manual insertion tray 15 to the image reader 19. The discharge 25 is arranged adjacently to the downstream side of the image reader 19, ejects papers which finish reading by the image reader 19 without passing through the image forming part 7.
