PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein high-speed display is difficult since it is required that information needed for reproduction of an imaged data is analyzed in the case of image display. SOLUTION: In an image recording/reproducing device, expanded attribute information is stored into a recording medium 102 shared by coding and decoding sections in photography. In this case, an image attribute index is added to the attribute information for storage. On the other hand, when the imaged data of an input signal are recorded on an internal recording medium 104, the image attribute index is recorded in association with coding data. Then, when the image data are reproduced, the shared recording medium 102 is searched based on the image attribute index attached to the image data read from the internal recording medium 104, and corresponding attribute information is acquired. The attribute information is expanded without being compressed, thus dispensing with analyzing the attribute information in decoding processing, omitting time required for analysis, and enabling quick display to a user.
